Local Government Zoom Calling Party!

Local Government is a vital tier of our government system. It is responsible for helping fight the climate crisis, making our communities stronger and keeping our cities livable. 

Unfortunately our electoral system doesn't prioritise meaningful engagement. Last election barely 25% of eligible voters actually returned their ballots. That means nearly 3 in 4 people didn’t get to have their say on who represents them at the local level. 

The system needs to change and we can all be part of that change. The Greens are committed to being an active participant in local government and beyond that, we can all do our part and return our ballots this October. 

The Local Government Elections finish up on October 16th. Postal ballots will go out before then and need to be returned before then.
