The State Government has secretly changed the rules to allow themselves to avoid community consultation when they want to approve deeply unpopular Data Centres. It's time to make our voices heard even if the Minns Government don't want to hear them!
Please join the Blacktown Greens and local campaigns against Data Centres to make sure that the residents of Blacktown know how many Data Centres are being planned around our homes and near our schools. The media and government won't tell us, so lets make sure that the people of Blacktown know what's happening in their backyards.
We will be setting up a stall to talk to people in the centre of Blacktown, as well as handing out flyers, and requesting people sign our petition to stop the data centres.
We will meet in the square outside the Max Webber Library, the Blacktown Civic Plaza has abundant free parking nearby as well as being accessible from Blacktown Train station.
Please wear a Greens shirt or badge if you have one, as well as bringing something for sun safety and wet weather. Please note that there is little shade in the Plaza, so please slip, slop, slap!
We will have a debrief and food/drinks afterwards at Pluto Cafe, right next to the plaza.
This event is fully wheelchair accessible.
Please contact the event organiser with any accessibility requests as early as possible so that suitable arrangements can be discussed and organised where possible.
If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will need to contact the event organiser directly to let them know there will be someone under 18 attending.
