A critical examination of Australia's Parent Visa system in conversation with Senator David Shoebridge, Greens Candidate Ponraj Krishna Pandi, and special guest who will share their lived experience of navigating our broken parent visa system. Hosted by Apsara Sabaratnam, and organised by Multicultural Greens Victoria, Hobson's Bay Greens, and Wyndham Greens.

Join a panel discussion on Australia’s immigration system, hosted by Multicultural Greens, Hobsons Bay Greens and Wyndham Greens.

The current system is complex, costly and slow. This creates hardship for families seeking to reunite with their parents.

Current parent visa options are restrictive and expensive. Australian families are forced to submit multiple applications and face long processing times. It's costly, stressful and emotionally draining.

Back in the 1980s, the government issued four times as many family visas as skilled visas. Family reunion was central to Australia’s migration program. Today, family visas account for only one-third of all visas granted.

We would also like you to sign and share our petition calling for reform of the parent visa program
