Our popular 'Let's Talk' series is back! Join Amanda Cohn MLC, and Dr Mitchell Hickson for an urgent and timely discussion on microplastics and their impact on our health.

Plastic once produced never goes away - it only breaks into smaller and smaller pieces in the environment. From the oceans to our bloodstreams, microplastics are now everywhere, and communities are paying the highest price for pollution driven by corporate profits. This event will be an in-depth and energising discussion to explore the latest research, and what we can do about it.

We'll discuss:

  • The latest research on microplastics in our bodies

  • The role of corporations in driving this emerging crisis

  • The systemic change needed to fix this

Dr Mitchell Hickson is a physician working in NSW health and is a clinical associate lecturer at Sydney University for the Faculty of Medicine and Health.  He has a passion and interest for the health consequences of plastics and their additives. He chairs the Plastics and Waste Pollution Special Interest Group for Doctors for the Environment.

Dr Amanda Cohn MLC is a former GP and the Greens Spokesperson for Waste in the NSW Parliament.

We hope you can join us for an informative, alarming, and empowering conversation.
