Find out more about the stadium cluster-fiasco, and what you can do to help stop it.

The Liberals’ Macquarie Point Stadium is going to cost Tasmanians well over a billion dollars that should be invested in affordable housing, a health system that works and better schools for our kids.

It’s fully cooked, but half-baked. The stadium will be an eyesore amongst Hobart’s heritage landscape, gridlock our already struggling transport system and won’t even be fit for a cricket match. The list of issues goes on.

Despite this, the Liberals are seeking to bypass the independent PoSS planning process and ram the stadium through Parliament with special legislation.

This legislation would make the Minister the stadium proponent, planning authority and regulator. It gives him unprecedented powers to rewrite the stadium planning conditions.

The Rockliff Government are trying to cut out the community to get this dud stadium built, but it’s far from a done deal. Now is the time for the community to stand up against the Premier’s vanity project.

Join Vica Bayley MP, Helen Burnet MP (Members for Clark) and Roland Browne (Our Place community spokesperson) to find out more about the stadium cluster-fiasco, and what you can do to help stop it.
